Q: What Led You to Start Using Cloth Diapers?

A: I didn't start cloth diapering until my second child was 12 months old. After my "original" products that I sold on the website (see next question for more details) didn't sell and once I started selling cloth this is when I switched. I was amazed of all the great cloth diaper products available and had the typical stereotype of cloth diapers of the pins, flats, and plastic pants before I started.

Q: How did you go about making cloth diapers your business?

A: I actually started www.kellyscloset.com by selling designer baby clothes and had no inclination to sell cloth diapers. Unfortunately after months of not selling anything I had a couple of Moms within the time frame ask if I carried a particular brand of cloth diapers as I carried the same brand in clothing. I honestly thought to myself...cloth diapers...they will never sell...however I thought at that point I had nothing to loose. I purchased a small case of all in ones and wouldn't you know they sold within days. I was so pleased. I started bringing in larger orders and more customers contacted me if I could carry other brands. Now, after 6 years later cloth diapers are our main stay at www.kellyscloset.com

Q: Was starting your business difficult?

A: I grew up with a family with a very strong work ethic and was very determined to make things work. I think the hardest part initially was finding the right person to design the website.

Q: How do you manage to run a business with small children?

A: Being that both my children are in school it makes it easier to run the business. I just have to manage my time wisely during the day. I usually answer all emails in the evening once the kids are in bed.

Q: What does your home office/work space look like?

A: I like to be very organized and I have the inventory in special stackable drawers that are all labeled. I feel fortunate to have a large space dedicated to the business.

Q: What Is The Most Rewarding Thing About Running Your Home Business?

A: That I can make my own hours and be very flexible with my children's schedule. Running my own business has really given me the freedom to be with my kids but still bring in a full time income.

Q: What new an exciting things can we expect in the future?

A: We are launching a new site within the next 3 months which will have some exciting fun products that are exclusive to our company.
